The 2018 Chevrolet Cruze is a front-wheel-drive sedan that is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 153 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on L, LS, and LT trims (more on trims in the following section) and a six-speed automatic is optional.
Drivers who step up to the top-of-the-line Premier model get the automatic transmission as standard. It’s also worth noting that selecting the automatic adds a handy automatic stop-start feature to help save fuel when the vehicle isn’t in motion as well.
Speaking of fuel, the 2018 Cruze boasts impressive fuel economy, meaning you can enjoy your commutes just a little bit more knowing that you’ll spend more time at your destination instead of filling up at the pump.
Models equipped with the six-speed manual return an EPA-estimated 33 mpg combined (41 highway/29 city), while models sporting the automatic return an EPA-estimated 35 mpg combined (42 highway/30 city).*

The Cruze Premier gets those features as standard plus 17-inch wheels, an upgraded rear suspension, ambient interior lighting, illuminated vanity mirrors, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery and a height-adjustable front passenger seat.

Design
The 2018 Chevrolet Cruze is one good-looking sedan. But don’t think for a minute that its aggressive new styling is just for show. Its design was optimized for aerodynamics (it has a coefficient drag of 0.29) and it takes advantage of wind-tunnel testing done for the Volt. It inherits a chiseled new face as well as a revamped dual-grille front end.
It’s worth noting that the 2018 Cruze is a full three inches longer than its predecessor, which translates to two inches of additional rear legroom. Despite being a small car, the Cruze’s abundance of room encroaches on midsize territory.
Inside, the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze carries an upscale ambiance with a dual cockpit look and fine details sprinkled throughout. The 2018 Cruze’s interior is noticeably stylish and comfortable compared to other comparable compact sedans.
